In one of the most dramatic title games
in league and school history, Winthrop
knocked off Coastal Carolina 4-3 in
double-overtime on a Daniel Revivo
golden goal. Matthew Skonicki scored
with 21 seconds left in regulation to tie
the game at 3-3 before helping set up the
game-winner in overtime.
Skonicki netted four goals in the tourna-
ment and earned Big South Tournament
MVP honors.
Winthrop advanced to its third NCAA
College Cup as it traveled to Williams-
burg, VA. Winthrop fell 3-1 to William &
Mary in a cold, wet, and snowy evening.
