2006 Big South Conference Champions
Winthrop captured its second Big South Title with a 3-0 victory over High Point, just one year after falling 1-0 to
Coastal Carolina in the title game. Daniel Revivo scored a hat trick in the championship match as he went on to
earn Big South Tournament MVP honors. Winthrop advanced to the championship game after defeating Liberty
2-1 in overtime thanks to a golden goal by Henry Kalungi. The Eagles advanced to the NCAA College Cup once
again and nearly pulled off an upset as it fell 4-3 in penalties at Old Dominion. For the second time in school his-
tory, the Eagles posted 15 wins in a season. The team finished 5th nationally in goals per game at 2.32 and 16th
in goals against at 0.73. The team lost just three games all season, still the fewest games lost in a single-season in
Winthrop history.
