Matt Griggs
Matt Griggs is in his first season as a graduate assistant coach with the men’s
basketball program.
Griggs is a 2013 graduate of Centre College in Danville, KY where he earned a
bachelor’s degree in education. The Cincinnati, OH native was a member of the men’s
basketball team and appeared in 108 consecutive games as well as being the team
captain and a three-time conference academic honor roll member.
In his four years at Centre College, Griggs and his team won three conference
championships and participated in the NCAA Division III national tournament three
times as well.
Griggs graduated high school from Indian Hill in Cincinnati where he was an
all-league and all-city selection and also a member of the varsity track & field team.
As a senior, he led the team to a school record 21 wins (21-3 overall) and the school’s
highest final ranking in the state at 5th in the AP Poll.
Griggs is the son of Mike Griggs and Karla Burtch and one of four brothers. His
oldest brother Adam is the varsity boys basketball coach at Finneytown High School in
Cincinnati. He also has younger brothers Andrew (a junior at the University of Cincin-
nati) and Jon (a freshman basketball player at Ohio Wesleyan University).
The first year assistant will be pursuing a master’s degree in middle level educa-
tion.

Tony Rack
Tony Rack is in his second season with the men’s basketball program and is in
his first year as the team’s director of operations. Rack served as a graduate assistant
coach last year.
The Cincinnati, OH native is a 2012 graduate of Northern Kentucky University
where he was a four-year member of the men’s basketball team. Rack was known for
his accuracy behind the arc at Northern Kentucky as he led the team in three-point
percentage for three straight years. As a senior he knocked down 59 threes on the
year and finished with a percentage of .461. In his four years he drained 160 three-
pointers. His senior season, Rack was a team captain and was also an Academic
All-American Nominee. He was voted to the Capital One Academic All-District IV First
Team as well as the National Association Of Basketball Coaches Honors Court.
The 6-0 guard also had an impressive high school career at Moeller High School
in Cincinnati. As a junior and senior, Rack led the Greater Catholic League in assists
and averaged 4.3 assists as a senior. In 2007, Rack was a key member of the Moeller
team that won the Ohio Division I state title. In addition to his basketball skills, Rack
was also a member of the varsity football and baseball teams.
Rack is the son of Jim and Susan Rack and has an older brother, Kevin.
