The Assistant Coaches
Clint Chrysler begins his fourth season as Pitching Coach for the
Winthrop baseball team.
Chrysler came to the Eagles after spending two seasons as an
assistant coach at Stetson University. where he played in college.
A native of Clear Lake, TX, Chrysler was a member of the first
recruiting class that Coach Riginos brought in at Stetson University in
1994. He played three seasons as a two-way player for the Hatters
and accumulated a 14-10 record on the mound with a 3.80 ERA. As
a hitter, Chrysler had a career average of .309, including a career-
high .344 average as a junior. He helped lead Stetson to two NCAA
Tournament appearances in three seasons and currently holds the
single-game pitching record by throwing 11 innings against Florida
International on May 15, 1997.
Chrysler was named the 1996 Cape Cod League Reliever of the
Year playing for the Wareham Gatemen. He also set the Cape Cod
League save record that season and still holds the Gatemen team
saves record. Chrysler was named to the Mid-Season All-Star Team
during the season as well.
Chrysler left the Hatter baseball program after his junior season
when he was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 17th round of
the 1997 Major League Draft. He spent nine years playing profes-
sional baseball with the Mariners (1997-99) and the Pittsburgh Pi-
rates (2000-04), and reached as high as the AAA level playing for the
Pirates (Nashville Sound). During his professional career, Chrysler
was named to two minor league All-Star teams.
He recently spent this past summer as the head coach of the
Winter Park Diamond Dawgs of the Florida Collegiate Summer
League. The Diamond Dawgs won a league-record 31 games and
the 2010 Florida League Championship, which was played at the
Tampa Bay Rays’ Tropicana Field. Chrysler was also recognized as
Manager of the Year.
He graduated from Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport, FL in
1994. As a player at Boca Ciega, Chrysler earned First Team All-
Suncoast and All-State honors. He was drafted in the 47th round of
the 1994 Major League Draft by the New York Yankees, but instead
chose to attend Stetson.
Chrysler earned his bachelor’s degree in Supervision and Man-
agement from Daytona State College in December of 2009.

Pete Jenkins, a former catcher in the Milwaukee Brewers
organization and a college standout at Nebraska, is beginning
his first season as a volunteer assistant with the Winthrop base-
ball program.
He will be in charge of the catchers, assist with the hitters
and coach first base.
Jenkins was drafted by the Brewers in 1996 and went on
to play four professional seasons before moving into coaching.
Before coming to Winthrop, he served as an assistant coach in
2012 and 2013 at Belmont Abbey College, and prior to that he
was a volunteer assistant at Elon and Ohio State.
During three seasons at Ohio State (2008-2010), he helped
lead the Buckeyes to 90 victories and a NCAA Regional appear-
ance. Prior to his stint at Ohio State, Jenkins spent two seasons
on the Florida State staff. During his time with the Seminoles,
FSU advanced to NCAA Regional play twice. He also had stays
at UNC Asheville and Cal State-San Bernardino.
In his lone season at Nebraska, Jenkins hit .320. He began
his collegiate career at Riverside Community College in Califor-
nia where he played two years for the traditional junior college
powerhouse program.
Jenkins and his wife, Tiffany, have two daughters, Avery
Grace and Madison Ann

Ben Hall is entering his third season with the Winthrop base-
ball team as an Assistant Coach.
Hall came to the Eagles in 2012 after spending the previous
four seasons as an Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at
Wingate University.
In 2011, the Bulldogs posted a 34-22 overall record and won
the South Atlantic Conference Tournament earning a bid to the
Southeast Regional. Wingate had two hitters rank among the top
players nationally in numerous offensive categories and earn
Prior to joining Wingate in 2008, Hall served as the Student
Assistant Coach at Clemson University under head coach Jack
Leggett in 2007. While with the Tigers baseball program, he
worked primarily with the hitters and infielders. Clemson made
it to the NCAA Super Regional that season after going 41-23
overall and had a .971 fielding percentage.
Hall played in college for one season each at Stetson Uni-
versity and Daytona Beach Community College before trans-
ferring to Clemson for his final two years of eligibility. With the
Hatters, he hit .321 in 48 games and was named to the Atlantic
Sun Conference All-Freshman Team. Hall would follow that
performance by being named Second Team All-Conference at
DBCC after hitting .323 with five home runs.
In his two seasons at Clemson he displayed success in the
classroom earning ACC Academic Honor Roll recognition twice
and was a member of two NCAA Tournament teams, including
one NCAA College World Series squad in 2006. In 2005, Hall hit
.319 with five doubles, one triple and one home run. The Tigers
captured the ACC regular season and tournament titles in 2006,
and Hall played a pivotal role during the ACC Tournament with
his game-winning RBI single to beat then-No. 7 Georgia Tech.
Hall received his undergraduate degree in Sport Manage-
ment from Clemson in 2007, and his Master’s of Business
Administration (MBA) from Wingate in 2009.
